Purpose: To support the successful operation of SolBe Learning’s first center in Boston and assist ownership in the  design of programs, policies, and procedures that will support its success.

This position works in partnership with the current Director. Together, the directors share the responsibilities  outlined below.

Responsibilities

• Guide enrolling families through the enrollment process; including paperwork, initial visits, and transition to  care

• Engage and develop parents in partnership program with classroom educators

• Work alongside Marketing Director to create family programming

• Communicate with families, including responding effectively to conflicts and concerns • Supervise day-to-day operations of the program, including covering in the classrooms as needed • Ensure safe environment that is compliant with licensing and regulations

• Supervise staffing, including hiring and dismissal

• Engage in authentic leadership practices to create a positive work climate

• Manage HR functions including employee timesheets, preparation of payroll reports, educator scheduling,  and employee reviews

• Facilitate communication and alignment with educators and program goals, including monthly meetings • Recruit, hire, and onboard educators who embody SolBe values and core dispositions • Oversee and support continual educator development

• Ensure integrity of the program’s approach is evident in classroom practices

• Review educator lesson plans, checking quality against the SolBe education standards • Observe and coach educators, ensuring that SolBe teaching practices and interaction guidelines are being  met

• Purchase and ordering of school wide materials

• Perform additional duties as requested by the school Director

Responsibilities:

• Provide responsive and respectful care for children in designated groups, including supporting  children emotionally, assisting with toileting or diaper-changing, dressing, feeding, and offering  comfort.

• Collaborate with the classroom team to ensure supportive and challenging growth opportunities for  children, including opportunities to socialize and make friends, develop skills of self-expression, and  engage with activities and content of interest to the child and group. Work with SolBe Lead educator  to create and implement a weekly curriculum to address these goals.

• Complete assessment of children's development through the use of observational tools,  documentation and reflection. Communicate children’s development to families.

• Use Brightwheel (our classroom management app) to record children’s attendance, activities, details  of their day, and assessment information.

• Engage in regular, respectful, and sensitive communication with parents, including daily updates via  Brightwheel, conferences, center displays of children’s work and photographs.

• Light custodial duties, including sweeping, washing/sanitizing of table surfaces and equipment,  laundry.

• Meet requirements for ongoing education, including 20 hours of training annually as required by  DEEC, maintain update-to-date CPR and First Aid Training, and other professional development as  required by SolBe.

• Perform additional duties as requested by the administrative team.

Physical qualifications:

• Work requires close visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work  assigned (i.e. light custodial duties, snack distribution, classroom set-up and safety, general supervision  and wellbeing of participants) or to make general observations of facilities, participants or environment. • Ability to lift 35+ pounds.

• Ability to push a crib or stroller with approximately 80-100 pounds of weight.

• Must be able to climb, stoop, reach, stand, lift, feel, communicate appropriately, and be capable of  repetitive motion for the entirety of shift. Able to physically respond quickly in an emergency. • Assist in classrooms, field trips, and outdoor explorations, as needed.

• Understand the risk of exposure to blood and bodily fluids and use universal precautions in such  instances.

The Children’s Meetinghouse in Concord, MA, a non-profit early childhood center is looking for a new team member. Our teachers feel inspired and excited learning about the Reggio Emilia philosophy. The school is located in beautiful surroundings and has a huge playground area. As a small program with plenty of space and possibilities, we are proud to have generous teacher to child ratios. We serve children from ages four months to five years in our two mixed age classrooms. Job Description
The Children's Centers philosophy is based on blending a variety of early childhood educational philosophies and approaches, including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Constructivist. Children at the Center are viewed as active participants in their own learning, making choices and seeking out experiences that further their development. Educators at the Center strive to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports children as they learn and grow at their own pace through play-based and child-centered experiences. Educators at the Center believe in viewing each child as an individual, and they understand the importance of getting to know each child and meeting them where they are developmentally.   The Lead Teacher role has the primary responsibility of ensuring the safety and well-being of all the children in their classroom. In addition, the Lead Teachers role is to support the mission and philosophy of the Center, provide a nurturing, consistent, developmentally appropriate environment that meets the cognitive, emotional, social and physical needs of young children, develop and maintain family relationships, collaborate with co-teaching team, and take part in continuous professional development. The Lead Teacher must abide by all EEC licensing standards, and all policies and procedures set forth in the employee handbook.
