Strong Start: Intro to Reggio

During this 3 hour introductory workshop, you will learn about the fundamental values and practices of the Reggio Emilia Approach, including concepts such as the image of the child, the environment as the third teacher, pedagogical documentation, and provocations. Examples of emergent investigations with children in U.S. contexts (toddler, preschool, and early elementary) will demonstrate how one can draw inspiration from the schools in Reggio Emilia. There will also be an option to visit Reggio-inspired classrooms from 12:00 – 12:30 p.m. This workshop is ideal for educators who are new to the Reggio Emilia Approach. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and participants will have the option of walking over to the main building at 15 Brimmer St (a 5 minute walk) to see classroom spaces from 12 – 12:30.
