Coffee & Conversation – Community with our Youngest Children

April 6 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for a dialogue about our work with infants and toddlers and their families.

How do we create a sense of community for our youngest children and their families?

Western Ave Children’s Center is still new and evolving. Currently there are four open classrooms, three dedicated to caring for infants and toddlers. What are ways we can build layers of support around children, families, and teachers to grow a sense of community? Come see how the various elements of physical space, communication, approach to transitions, and community events all combine to support the development of a community sensibility.

Dr. Tiziana Filippini will help us consider working with the youngest children and their families through the Reggio Emilia Approach. Documentation of infants and toddlers will be visible in the space and all classroom are open to visit from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

  • PARKING LOT – There is a parking lot adjacent to the building off of Hague Street, Allston. These spaces should be open and free, but just in case -There are parking meters in the Hague St. lot across the street and also on Western Ave. in front of the Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences building.
