Must have experience in a place based curriculum program and a love of Reggio Emilia programs, and outdoor teaching. Our Fall 2022 groupings (summer available too but not required) will be 12-14 multiage students to two co-teachers and a floating preschool assistant. You will have weekly meetings with the entire team for planning and documentation purposes. Hours are flexible for the right applicant but likely 8am-4pm M-F including 4 planning hours per week (opportunities for 1/2 Fridays off or alternating with co-teacher). Teachers are be responsible for staging their indoor & outdoor classroom spaces daily and cleaning up at the end of the day.

  • Plan, implement, and facilitate project approach curriculum for children following PRCP philosophy & values
  • Maintain organized, developmentally appropriate portfolios for each child
  • Complete 4 portfolio entries for each child each quarter according DOE curriculum guidelines
  • Maintain and update documentation of children’s work and development and current curriculum project
  • Promote children’s communication in 100+ languages
  • Observe children and complete biannual assessments on each child (Dec. 1st and June 1st) Type and post classroom note each week
  • Maintain a peaceful, harmonious classroom atmosphere where children and teachers are respected, valued & heard
  • Maintain a culturally diverse classroom environment that includes a family photo of each child-photos of each child in his or her personal spaces and a culturally diverse curriculum
  • Support children’s social emotional needs according to PRCP philosophy
  • Adapt curriculum and activities as needed based on children’s individual needs and skill
  • Set up classroom activities daily that are engaging and hands on

Start Date: August 22nd 2022 (or sooner for summer program)

Rate: $19-23/hour paid out in biweekly salary

Hours: some flexibility but approximately 8:30-3:30

Classroom: Multi-age preschool
