At Learning Brooke Early Childhood Education Center, we have begun our search
for a new Director as we enter our 20th year of serving families in Rhode Island.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and Educaring® Approach, we believe

to be filled, rather they are complete beings ready to explore their world with the
support of nurturing adults ready to design environments and experiences to

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field
• Early Childhood Education experience
• Strong leadership skills
• Superb representation of self and school to the public
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Clear, positive, communication skills
• Self-motivated and collaborative spirit
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to effectively multi-task
• Ability to develop and manage systems

• Positive can-do attitude
• Professional appearance and strong work ethic
• Computer skills (ProCare knowledge a plus)
• Knowledge of RI DHS regulations for childcare licensure
• Strong ability to recognize and strive for opportunities for the school
• Love of children and commitment to quality, authentic, early childhood
education

Job Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties-
• Process enrollments
• Keep all student/staff files up to date
• Ordering supplies
• Tuition billing
• Marketing and promotion of Learning Brooke
• Attend monthly staff meetings
• Create and update systems for maximum efficiency and effective operation
Management of Staff-
• Recruiting, hiring/termination, supervision of staff
• Manage daily schedule and ensure staff/children ratios are met at all times
• Track weekly hours and all time off (vacations and sick) for staff
• Staff evaluations (observing and rating performance, goal setting and
tracking)
• Weekly operations meetings with Administrative staff
• Maintain up to date employment files for all staff
• Ensure staff compliance with professional development requirements
• Direct supervision of Administrative Assistant
• Work collaboratively with Learning Brooke’s Pedagogy Coordinator to
support curriculum and teacher development
Family Relationships and Communication-
• Introduce families to Learning Brooke philosophy, policies, fees, regulations,
availability via school tour
• Track leads, tours and follow-up to result in enrollment

• Be available for family concerns/questions and convey policy changes to
families
• Manage waitpool
Compliance Duties-
• Ensure all staff files are in compliance with licensing and continuing
education requirements
• Ensure Learning Brooke is in full compliance with all DHS licensing and
safety regulations at all times
• Work with DHS during licensing visits to share school operations and
compliance
• Schedule annual inspections for health and safety
• Update paperwork and policy as needed
• Write and update plans and procedures for all types of emergencies
• Ensure all safety regulations and drills are met at all times
• Oversee cleanliness, maintenance and organization of the school
The Director’s position at Learning Brooke is a full-time, salaried position.
