Lincoln Nursery School, a long-standing parent cooperative, is seeking a warm and engaging co-teacher to join our community. Our ideal candidate has experience working in a Reggio-inspired classroom, enjoys working with parents in a cooperative setting, and embraces the opportunity to incorporate nature and our context of deCordova’s Sculpture Park and Museum into the curriculum.
Responsibilities and Duties
Collaborative planning responsive to both the learning goals and children’s emerging interests, ideas and theories to create an educating community for a mixed age group of 16 children and a rotating parent helper. Develop emergent curriculum through observation of children’s interests and the school’s context. Teach through inquiry. Create environments that invite interaction. Offer provocations attuned to multiple learning styles. Document and reflect upon children’s learning. Maintain weekly communication with parents through Storypark. Integrate and support parent helpers as they participate in the educational process. Engage in ongoing professional development.
8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday plus a weekly afternoon staff meeting to 3:00. Occasional evening hours for parent meetings.
Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements
Ma. DEEC, Lead Teacher Certification and experience teaching in a Reggio-inspired classroom required. Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Must be comfortable using technology for documentation and communication.
Salary and Benefits
$37,000-$47,000 includes health or retirement benefits for 10 months. (LNS is closed July and August.)
