Lincoln Nursery School, a long-standing parent cooperative, is seeking a warm and engaging co-teacher to join our community. Our ideal candidate is familiar with the Reggio Emilia Approach or emergent curriculum, embraces play based learning and the opportunity to incorporate nature and our context of deCordova’s Sculpture Park and Museum into the curriculum.
Responsibilities and Duties
Collaborative planning responsive to the children’s emerging interests and play ideas for a mixed age group of up to 16 children, attending on varying days. Organize the flow of the afternoon to include lunch and a 30 minute rest period. Develop emergent curriculum through observation of children’s interests and the school’s context. Offer provocations attuned to multiple learning styles. Maintain weekly communication with parents through Storypark. Engage in ongoing professional development.
11:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. The children attend Stay & Play from 12-3. Attend a monthly staff meeting. Occasional evening hours for parent community meetings.
Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements
Ma. DEEC, Lead Teacher Certification and experience with emergent curriculum required. Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Salary and Benefits
$31-33k plus health or retirement benefits for 10 months. (LNS is closed July and August.)
