Teacher Self-Care in Reggio-Inspired Settings

December 16, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

A free workshop exploring self-care for early childhood educators.

With a strong image of the child we assume our students’ thoughts and feelings are important, we coach them to self-advocate, and we listen for their unique needs. How can we do this authentically if we forget to offer ourselves the same respect? With a strong image of the teacher, we will use research and reflection to investigate self-care as a sustaining practice. Participants will leave the session with realistic, individualized strategies.

This workshop will be led by Lauren Stauble. Lauren is the Assistant Director at a Reggio-inspired child care center in Cambridge, MA. Her work evolves daily and is result of 17 years of practice which includes emergent curriculum, anti-bias education, community activism, cultivating inclusive classrooms, program administration, teaching higher education courses, in-depth study and personal practice of yoga/meditation, psychology coursework, mindfulness-based therapy, and being raised by a mother with a healthy sense of agency.
